Big political developments are going on in Bangladesh. After the resignation of Sheikh Hasina from the post of Prime Minister, an interim government has been formed, whose command has been taken over by Mohammad Yunus. Meanwhile, in the neighboring country, the worst condition is of minorities and especially the people of Hindu community. Due to this, Hindus have come out on the streets and are protesting for their safety.

In this episode, Hindus living in Bangladesh demonstrated in the capital Dhaka. Here, outside the official residence of the head of the interim government, Mohammad Yunus, Hindus persecuted by Muslim fundamentalists arrived with photographs of their loved ones in their hands and demanded to ensure security. This demonstration of Hindus is against the old disease of Bangladesh, in which as soon as anarchy spreads, Muslim fundamentalists first persecute Hindus.

On Sunday, there was a massive demonstration against the attack on Hindus in Bangladesh. This is hardly the first time that the world has seen the Hindus of Bangladesh protesting on such a large scale. The way Hindus were openly targeted in Bangladesh as soon as Sheikh Hasina’s government was ousted has broken the patience of the Hindus living there. He started asking
Is Bangladesh not theirs?

Yunus reached Hindu temple

Hindus also demonstrated in Dhaka on Tuesday under the banner of Sanatan Adhikar Manch. When this demonstration was taking place, Mohammad Yunus was meeting the members of the interim government inside his official residence. Before this demonstration, Chief Assistant of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus reached Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital Dhaka. After reaching the temple, Yunus met the Hindus and assured them of security. The attack on Hindus on 5th August drew the attention of the whole world towards Bangladesh. Questions started arising. And after increasing pressure, the interim government had to give assurance of safety of Hindus.

According to Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, which works for minorities, Hindus were attacked in 45 out of 64 districts of Bangladesh, that is, Hindus were victims of violence and vandalism in 70% of the districts of Bangladesh. Religious places, homes and businesses, everything was the target. The Hindus of Bangladesh have now taken the responsibility of their own security. Mohammad Yunus may have reached Dhakeshwari temple to meet Hindus, but in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka itself, people of Hindu community took out a candle march and demanded protection of minorities.

A 5-member group of Hindu students named “Minority Rights Movement” met Dr. Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government. 8-point demands were handed over to Yunus for discussion. Prime Minister Modi promised to ensure the protection of minorities after the formation of the interim government in Bangladesh. The issue was raised prominently and similar concerns were expressed from all over the world including America.

It is only after all-round pressure that the Bangladesh government has lost its sleep and now it is talking about providing security to Hindus and other minorities. But the question is why such action was not taken earlier? Why did Hindus persecuted by Muslim fundamentalists have to come to the door of the house of the head of the interim government with photographs like this to plead for their safety?

On the other hand, a long meeting of top leaders of BJP and RSS was held late on Sunday night. This meeting was held at the house of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. After this, there is 20 lakh Hindu population in Rangpur, 10 lakh in Rajshahi, 4 lakh in Mymensingh, 13 lakh in Sylhet, 7 lakh in Barisal, 20 lakh in Chittagong and Khulna. On August 5, Hindus were attacked in all these cities in Bangladesh. Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir played an important role in instigating these protests. The fear among the Hindus of Bangladesh was so much that leaving everything, Bangladeshi Hindus gathered on a large scale at the Indian border. According to the census conducted in the year 2022, Bangladesh has 91% Muslims and 7.9% Hindus. . The population of other minorities like Buddhists and Christians remained the same in the last 75 years, thus in Bangladesh only Hindus decreased and Muslims increased.

Fundamentalists responsible for such situation in Bangladesh

Experts hold the policies of the governments there and the fundamentalists responsible for this. Bangladesh fundamentalist organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami continuously attack Hindus. That is why Sheikh Hasina banned it. On August 1, Sheikh Hasina government imposed a complete ban on Jamaat and on August 5, Sheikh Hasina had to resign. Along with the Hindus living there, those who punished the fundamentalists also came under target. On August 5, fundamentalists entered the house of a person named Tuheen Afroz and badly injured him. Their hair was also cut. He was treated like this because he played an important role in getting the radicals punished. The main opposition party of Bangladesh also has fundamentalist thinking. That is why the minority community in Bangladesh, especially Hindus, are on the streets in such large numbers for their safety.
