Atishi will not be able to hoist the flag in place of Kejriwal on August 15, proposal rejected

Atishi was to hoist the flag in place of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the occasion of Independence Day in Delhi. While inside the jail, Kejriwal had expressed his wish that Atishi should hoist the flag in his place in the program to be held at Chhatrasal Stadium on August 15. But this proposal has been rejected.

The General Administration Department (GAD) of the Delhi government has rejected Kejriwal’s proposal that Atishi should hoist the national flag on Independence Day in place of Kejriwal. Rules have been cited for this.

Kejriwal had written a letter from jail

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in jail in the liquor scam case, had written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor regarding hoisting the flag on August 15. In the letter, Kejriwal had told that on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day, Minister Atishi Singh will hoist the flag in Delhi.

Every year on the occasion of Independence Day in Delhi, Delhi Government organizes a program at Chhatrasal Stadium. In which the Chief Minister hoists the flag. But this time Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in jail, so he had authorized his cabinet minister Atishi to hoist the flag.

Actually, after Deputy CM Manish Sisodia came out of jail, there was speculation that Manish Sisodia will now hoist the flag on 15th August. Whereas Arvind Kejriwal had taken Atishi’s name earlier also.
