Asus ROG Phone 9 series may soon launch as the successor to the ROG Phone 8 series, which includes the Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. Recently, the release schedule and some specifications of the alleged Asus ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro were exposed online. Now, one of the expected phones has reportedly appeared on the certification website. At the same time, a person familiar with the matter revealed that the ROG Phone 9 version is expected to be equipped with the latest Snapdragon chipset.

Tipster Smart Pikachu (Chinese translation) shared on Weibo that an upcoming ASUS smartphone with model number ASUSAI2501A, speculated to be the ROG Phone 9, has been spotted on China’s 3C certification website. This listing suggests that the phone may support 65W wired fast charging.

Notably, an earlier report suggested that the Asus ROG Phone 9 series may include a variant with model number ASUSAI2501C.

The source added that the Asus ROG Phone 9 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. The chipset is expected to be launched in October this year. The source further hinted that the phone will support 24GB RAM and 1TB onboard storage.

Asus ROG Phone 9 series is expected to launch in China by the end of 2024. Globally, it may be released in January 2025.

The display of the Asus ROG Phone 9 is expected to be upgraded, but the tipster did not reveal more details. The Asus ROG Phone 8 is equipped with a 6.78-inch Full HD+ Flexible AMOLED LTPO screen with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 series comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a 50-megapixel triple rear camera, a 12-megapixel selfie camera, and a 5,500mAh battery with support for Qi 1.3 wireless and 65W wired fast charging.
