The country has not yet recovered from the brutal incident of rape and murder of a lady doctor in RG Medical College, Kolkata, when a case of alleged rape of a 21-year-old girl has come to light in Bengaluru. According to the police, on Saturday night an unknown bike rider first gave a lift to the girl and then raped her. According to Bengaluru East Zone ACP Raman Gupta, the girl is a college student and was returning home after a get-together with her friends.
ACP said that the girl took a lift from a bike rider on the way, who instead of taking her to the designated place, took her to a deserted place. Giving information about the incident, Raman Gupta said, ‘The person from whom she had taken lift, attacked her fatally and allegedly raped her. We have registered a case of rape and started investigation.

This incident happened late on Saturday night at around 1 o’clock. Police said the girl was found behind a truck near Hosur Service Road in HSR Layout, her body covered only with a red jacket. He had sent an emergency message to his friends. They found the girl and took her to the nearest hospital. According to the police, the friends of the victim girl saw that an unknown man wearing only pants was standing where she was found lying.

He looked nervous and injuries were visible on his face. When the girl’s friends tried to catch him, he ran away. ACP Raman Gupta said that the victim has been admitted to the hospital and her condition is stable. Further information will be available after his medical examination. Police have registered a case under section 64 (rape) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and are investigating.
