Arjun Kapoor opens up about parents’ divorce and Boney Kapoor’s relationship with Sridevi, ‘Live India’

Arjun Kapoor reflects on his childhood struggles, the impact of his parents’ separation, and how he dealt with his father’s relationship with Sridevi.

Arjun says his parents’ divorce when he was 10 was a deeply traumatic experience that shaped his life in unexpected ways. He recalled how his father would be busy with high-pressure projects, e.g. Prem and Queen Rupp King Cologne That period of time affected their father-son relationship.

“My father was busy filming two blockbusters when this happened. We never had a normal father-son relationship. It wasn’t that he didn’t try, it was just circumstances that made it difficult for him.” Arjun said.

He also admitted that his studies suffered after the divorce and described his behavior as a silent rebellion. “I had lost interest in education. I felt this was a way to express my frustrations without being disruptive.” he shared.

On Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s relationship:

Boney Kapoor’s relationship with Sridevi became public in 1996 after his divorce from Mona Shourie. Looking back on this phase, Arjun revealed how he matured early to stay connected with his father.

“I tried to deal with it rationally. I wanted to make sure I didn’t lose touch with my dad. Even if I didn’t agree, I accepted it because he seemed happy.” he said.

Arjun also highlighted how his friends and family helped him stay grounded during this challenging time and credited them for making him feel less isolated.
