Apple on Monday released WatchOS 11, the latest operating system (OS) for the Apple Watch. It introduces features like Training Load, a new Vitals app, the ability to understand the strain of your workouts, better support during pregnancy, and an improved Smart Stack with real-time activity. However, one feature that the Cupertino-based tech giant didn’t explicitly advertise but has made its way to the Apple Watch is the ability to change the default ringtone.

Change the ringtone on your Apple Watch

Apple Watch ringtones have only seen minor changes since their introduction. Despite the new version coming with the Watch Series 3, users still couldn’t choose the ringtone they wanted. However, the new watchOS 11 update changes that by introducing multiple ringtone options.

Users now have eight different ringtones to choose from: Focus, Jingle, Nighthawk, Pebbles, Transmit, Twirl, Windup and Wonder.

You can do this by going into Settings and navigating to Sound and touch tab. It will be ring Option. In addition, users can customize notification tones for text messages, emails, and calendar reminders.

The folks at Gadgets 360 were able to verify the feature’s availability on the Apple Watch after updating to watchOS 11.

Other new features

In addition to being able to change ringtones, Apple Watch users can now get insights based on recent health metrics through the new Vitals app. In addition, they can check their fitness activity through the Training Load feature. Apple has also introduced other widgets for Smart Stack, such as Shazam, Translation, Distance, Photos, Severe Weather Alerts, and Live Activity.

Fitness rings on Apple Watch are now customizable, meaning users can now “pause” their fitness rings to stop training without affecting their winning streak. watchOS 11 also adds an improved photo watch face that uses machine learning to identify the ideal image to create a sense of depth. There’s also a new dynamic mode that automatically switches wallpapers when the user raises their wrist.
