In this case, an animal lover named Vikendra Sharma complained to the police and demanded action against the youth. At first the police refused to take action in this matter, however later the police registered a case and arrested the accused. The postmortem of the dead rat was done at the IVRI Center in Bareilly. In connection with the murder of the rat, the police has filed a 30-page charge sheet in the court, in which Manoj Kumar has been made the main accused. This matter is still pending in the court and the accused is out on bail.
