Hindus are being continuously targeted since the change of power in Bangladesh. So far, 300 Hindu families and their homes have been attacked there. Hindus have been mob lynched in four major incidents. More than 10 Hindu temples have been vandalised and set on fire. 49 Hindu teachers have been expelled from various universities and colleges after resigning. Terrorists who massacred Hindus are being released from jail and now Hindus are being prevented from performing puja-paath during azan in Durga Puja pandals.

In fact, Home Affairs Advisor in the interim government of Bangladesh and retired Lieutenant General Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has announced that from now on, during Azan and Namaz, people of the Hindu community will be prohibited from doing Puja and listening to bhajans on loudspeakers in Bangladesh. If any Hindu violates this rule, the police will arrest him without a warrant.

The government also says that this decision will have to be followed by all the committees that will set up Durga Puja pandals in Bangladesh between October 9 and October 13 next month. It will be mandatory to stop all religious rituals and worship in all these pandals five minutes before Azan and there will also be a complete ban on listening to bhajans or chanting religious mantras on loudspeakers during Azan and at the time of Namaz.

That is, when loudspeakers installed on mosques will be used for Azan in Muslim-dominated Bangladesh, then Hindus will not be able to use the loudspeakers for their religious rituals and prayers because Hindus are a minority there and Muslims are a majority.

There is no one in the world to talk about the human rights of these minority Hindus. Those who say that minority Muslims in India are in danger and call the attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh propaganda, they need to understand what double standards are?

Let us tell you that in the year 2017, when Durga Visarjan was to be held in West Bengal on the same day as the Moharram procession, at that time Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government had decided that first the Moharram procession will be held and later the Durga Visarjan will be held the next day. But in Bangladesh, where Muslims are in majority and Hindus are in minority, it has been decided that when Muslims use loudspeakers for Azan from their mosques, then Hindus cannot perform Puja in their Durga Pandals and this is the difference between Hindu-dominated India and Muslim-dominated Bangladesh.

Last year, a total of 33,431 Durga Pandals were set up during Navratri in Bangladesh, but this time the number of these Pandals may be 32,000 or even less and many Hindus are now afraid of setting up Durga Pandals during Navratri.

It is worth noting that in May 2020, when the US police killed a black citizen George Floyd, a campaign named “Black Lives Matter” was launched all over the world and at that time in October 2021, the players of the Indian cricket team supported the Black Lives Matter campaign by kneeling in a match against Pakistan.

Demand for Indian players to play wearing black bands

But, today when the minority Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh cricket team is coming to India to play a Test series from the 19th of this month. In such a situation, the people of the country are demanding that just like the Indian players had expressed their protest by wearing black bands for the black citizens of America, in the same way they should play the series against Bangladesh wearing black bands to protest against the atrocities being committed on the minority Hindus there.

Restrictions for non-Muslims in these countries of the world

There are many countries in the world where there are many restrictions on Hindus and non-Muslims. For example, Hindus cannot worship idols in Maldives. Cremation of Hindus is not allowed in Saudi Arabia. Muslim women cannot marry non-Muslim men in Albania. In Afghanistan, it is mandatory for Hindu women to wear Sharia hijab and burqa. And according to Pew Research, non-Muslims are not allowed to practice their religion openly in 17 Muslim countries of the world.
