Villagers in Pipaljhopa, a remote tribal area about 60 kilometers from the district headquarters, are very upset due to lack of BSNL signal. When BSNL employees and some officials came near Pipaljhopa Tower to inspect the machines, the patience of the people who had been facing trouble for almost a year was broken.
Angry villagers locked the gate of BSNL Tower. The villagers’ complaint is that the tower has been built for 12 months but was only put into use six months ago, but some mobile phones have signals. Villagers scolded officials. Things calmed down after talking to senior officials and getting assurances that the issue would be resolved within 10 days.
Consumer Manish Jaiswal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided 4G BSNL facilities in the village. Towers have been installed here, but our phones have no network. Therefore, we could neither talk nor call anywhere. The tower was installed 1 year ago and the mobile tower was launched 6 months ago. But our problem is not solved.
BSNL official Deepesh Rathore said, “We have conducted a side visit. The villagers here are filled with great anger. Villagers said that only a few mobile phones can use the Internet normally. He said network facilities should also be provided for other mobile phones. Talks were held with senior officials in this regard. Officials in Bhopal and Indore have been informed about the issue. He said the issue would be resolved in the first week of November next month.
