What else did Farooq say?
Minister Farooq said that the coalition government has issued an order to revoke the Waqf Fund Board GO No. 47 issued by the Ministry of Minority Welfare during the previous government. It is reported that the Ministry of Minority Welfare has issued GO No. 75, canceling the GO issued during the previous government.
On October 21, 2023, the then government issued Nomination No. 47 on the formation of the Waqf Committee. Ruhura (MLC), Hafiz Khan (MLA), Sheikh Haza, Nominated Members of Waqf and Waqf Committee Qadir Basha, Meera Huhsain, Shafi Ahmed Qadri, Shereen Begum (IPS), Barakat Ali, Jai Nazir Basha, Patan Shafi Ahmed, Haseena Begum. was established.
But some asked the state high court about the manner in which these appointments were made. Meanwhile, the High Court issued an interim order on November 1, 2023, suspending the election process of the chairman of the board of directors of the waqf. As a result, various legal issues arose and an administrative vacuum emerged in the Waqf Board.
To address the issue, the coalition government took into consideration the High Court judgment and canceled the controversial GO-47 promulgated by the previous government and promulgated the new GO-75. Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Farooq said the CM Chandrababu-led coalition government is committed to the management, protection and welfare of waqf properties and the government will take steps in this direction. He said only a coalition government could achieve the welfare of minorities.
