It is understood that the murder occurred on June 29, 2010. The accused’s name is Ramesh Desai. He lives in a rented house with his gay partner Manish Sahay. On the day of the incident, the two had a dispute over something and then started fighting. Meanwhile, Ramesh kills Manish by hitting him with a brick. He then stripped the body naked and taped it together.

He then wrapped the body in cloth and hid it under sand and cement under the kitchen sink of the rental house. After committing the crime, the accused Ramesh Desai escaped on the moped owned by the deceased Manish Sahai. Spent eight years in Rajasthan. Thereafter, he changed his identity and started working in a hotel in Mumbai. A few days later, the mutilated body of Manish, then 34, was found.

Given the sensitivity of the case, the Criminal Investigation Division reopened the investigation several years after the murder and called on sources to gather clues. The crime branch said: “The suspect was eventually spotted at a location near Ahmedabad on his way to Rajasthan from Mumbai. During interrogation, he initially gave a false identity but later confessed your true identity.”

Accused Ramesh Desai told the police that he was having a homosexual relationship with Manish Sahai. On the day of the incident, the two had a fight, and Desai attacked Sahai with a brick, causing him serious injuries. After hiding the body in the same house, Desai fled and lived in Rajasthan for eight years. He changed his name and created new identification, police said.

He also took out life insurance under a new name. Thereafter, in 2017, he moved to Maharashtra permanently. There, he started working as a senior manager at a hotel in Khalghar, Navi Mumbai. But a police team re-investigating the case tracked him down through a connecting link. Ramesh is going to work in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the police set a trap to capture him.
