Actress Ananya Pandey spoke publicly at the India Today Mind Rocks 2024 Youth Summit. He also raised questions about the safety of women in the industry. Citing the Hema committee report, Ananya raised the idea of setting up a similar organisation in the industry.
Ananya talks about women safety
At the India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit 2024 in Bengaluru on September 14, Ananya won everyone’s hearts with her outspoken style. “It is very important for every industry to have a committee like the HEMA committee,” he said. “Women come together and start something. I think it will definitely make a difference. As you know and can see, people are at least talking about it now. But there is still a long way to go. There are many major battles to be fought.”
Ananya further said, “Some production houses and filmmakers have taken strict measures for the safety of women on the sets. They have changed their policies. I saw today that there are some helpline numbers in our contact list for the safety of women. I think that is also very important. Even our call sheet has helpline numbers that you can call at any time. Even if you want to file a complaint anonymously, I don’t think this problem is unique to the film industry. I feel this thing is everywhere, in every field. So, it is very important that we work on this aspect as soon as possible.”
Women’s safety is important
“It’s so important to at least stand for something,” the actress said. “Even if you don’t talk about everything. But if you feel it’s important to talk about it, then by all means, talk about it. Like women’s safety is so important to me. I always talk about it. We should not just talk about it, we should walk the walk.”
Talking about Ananya’s work front, her drama serial Call Me Bey was recently released on Amazon Prime and has been well received.
