Anant Chaturdash’s Story

According to the story of Mahabharata, the Kauravas defeated the Pandavas by cheating in gambling. After this, the Pandavas had to abandon their kingdom and went into exile. During this period, the Pandavas suffered a lot. One day, Lord Krishna came to the forest to meet the Pandavas. When Yudhishthir met Lord Krishna, he said, Oh Madhusudan, please tell us the solution to get rid of this suffering and regain the kingdom. After listening to Yudhishthir, the Lord said that all of you, including your brothers and wives, should observe the fast of Bhadra Shukla Chaturdashi and worship the eternal God.

Yudhishthira asked on this, who is the infinite God? Tell us these. To this, Shri Krishna responded that it is the form of Lord Vishnu. In Chaturmas, Lord Vishnu is sleeping forever on the bed of Sheshnag. Anant Bhagwan in the Vaman incarnation covers all the three worlds in just two steps. They know neither the beginning nor the end, that is why they are called infinite, so by worshiping them, all your troubles will end. Thereafter, Yudhishthira observed the fast along with his family and again ascended the throne of Hastinapur.
