A painful incident took place in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. A worker working in the forest was attacked and killed by a wild ivory elephant. The accident occurred in the Abapur forest in Chamorshtesir, Gadchiroli province. Shrikant Ramchandra Satre, a 23-year-old laborer, went to the forest with his friends. He tried to take a selfie in front of a wild elephant. During this time, an elephant attacked him.
According to sources, Shrikant Satre is a resident of Navegaon Bhujala district in Chandrapur. He and his colleagues came to Gadchiroli district to carry out cable laying work. This work of laying cables is being carried out in the Abapur village area within the forest limits.
Meanwhile, Srikanth and his companions got news that a tusked elephant was roaming in the forest. Srikanth and his two companions came to the forest around 8:30 am on Thursday morning, excited to see the elephant. When the elephant left, Srikanth tried to take a selfie with it. Meanwhile, when Shrikant came near the elephant, the elephant attacked him.

Wild elephants trampled Shrikant Par to death. Srikanth died on the spot. Seeing this scene, the remaining two companions ran for their lives.
After receiving the news, the forestry department and police rushed to the scene immediately. After this incident, the local people were filled with fear. Officials called on workers and local people to stay away from wild animals and exercise caution. Laborers working in forest areas have also been asked to take extra precautions in forests and avoid getting close to wild animals.
The movement of wild elephants in Gadchiroli and its surrounding forests has increased, and therefore the danger to local people and laborers has also increased. Following the incident, the forest department has issued instructions asking people working in the forest to avoid going near wild animals and maintain an appropriate distance from them.
