November 26, 2024: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will pay tribute to the brave heroes of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in a special program Who will be Crorepati 16airing Tuesday as the nation commemorates the 16th anniversary of the tragic event. This episode will tell the story of two frontline warriors——Shri Vishwas Nange PatilAdditional Inspector General of Police, and Sanjay GovilkarAdditional Inspector General of Police – who will narrate the harrowing experience of that fateful night.
In the promotional video for the show, Shri Vishwas Nange PatilHe, who was the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) of South Mumbai during the attacks, has shared chilling details of his role in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel operation.
Recalling the horrific night, Vishwas said: “That night, I received a call reporting a grenade blast and an AK-47 attack at the Taj Mahal. The sound of shooting. Without waiting for body armor, Amit and I walked in first. As we approached the stairs, we saw three terrorists carrying backpacks and holding AK-47s. I took a combat-ready stance and fired. Three bullets were fired, sir. One of them hit the terrorist named Abu Ali. They were each carrying an AK-47, six double magazines, 50 rounds of ammunition and 20 to 25 grenades.
