The biggest Mahakumbh of sports, the Olympic Games, is being held in Paris this time. Eyes are also on India’s young wrestler Aman Sehrawat for the Paris Olympics. Aman had reached the semi-finals of Men’s 57 kg Freestyle category, where he had to face defeat 0-10 at the hands of Japan’s Rei Higuchi. Now Aman will participate in the bronze medal match. Aman’s bronze medal match will be played on 9th August.

Aman could not stand in front of Higuchi

Aman could not do anything special against the first seeded Japanese wrestler in the semi-final match and the match lasted only 2 minutes 14 seconds. Rei Higuchi won on the basis of technical superiority. Let us tell you that if a wrestler takes a lead of 10 points, then the match is ended there. Higuchi has won silver medal in Rio Olympics (2016). Now he has a chance to win gold in the Paris Olympics.

In the quarter-finals, Aman entered the semi-finals by defeating Zelimkhan Abakarov of Albania by technical superiority 12-0. Asian Championship gold medalist and the country’s only male wrestler to qualify for the Olympics, Aman had an easy win over Abakarov in the quarter-finals. In the first round, Abakarov scored one point due to ‘passivity’ and then two points due to ‘take down’.

Former world champion Abakarov had the same condition in the second round also, after which the 21-year-old young wrestler from India tried to tie the knot and was successful. In this way he scored eight points and won by technical superiority. Abakarov challenged two points at the end, but it was rejected and Aman got another point.

Earlier, Aman reached the quarter-finals on the basis of his impressive performance against North Macedonia’s rival Vladimir Egorov. During the match, Aman looked very agile and maintained his defense and won 10-0 on the basis of technical proficiency over the former European champion. 29-year-old Egorov looked a little troubled in the first round and had to seek medical attention for his knee after Aman’s ‘all out’ attack. Aman did not allow the opponent to return. Aman scored two more points by doing a ‘takedown’ and took the lead 10-0 while there were still two minutes left for the match to end.
