UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that our government firmly believes that the benefit of reservation should be given to all the candidates belonging to the reserved category, so that injustice is not done to any candidate. He directed the officials of the Basic Education Department to proceed as per the order of Allahabad High Court, in which the state government has been asked to prepare a new selection list for the appointment of 69,000 assistant teachers within three months.

During the meeting with the officials of Basic Education Department, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the government has a clear opinion that all the candidates of the reserved category should get the benefit of reservation facility provided by the Constitution and injustice should not be done to any candidate. According to the official statement, the Basic Education Department informed the Chief Minister about all aspects of the court’s decision regarding the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers. CM Yogi directed the department to move forward on the basis of the observations made by the Supreme Court and the decision of the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court.

In a recent decision of the Allahabad High Court, the bench of Justice AR Masoodi and Justice Brijraj Singh had canceled the selection lists released in June 2020 and January 2022, which included 6,800 candidates from reserved categories. The bench also modified the earlier order and said that reserved category candidates who are qualified for the general category merit list should be shifted to that category.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav targeted Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya over his recent comment on the order of Allahabad High Court. Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the “favorite Deputy Chief Minister” is part of the government which took away reservation from the youth. He said that when he got justice after a long battle, he has come forward to present himself as his well-wisher.

Countering Akhilesh Yadav’s comment, Keshav Prasad Maurya alleged that the PDA of Congress pawn SP Bahadur is a big lie. In a post on This is the victory of those backward class people and Dalits who fought a long battle for their rights. I welcome him wholeheartedly.
