The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has decided to pull Akshay’s widely recognized anti-smoking ad and replace it with a new one. In the original video, Akshay confronts Nandu (played by Ajay Singh Pal) outside the hospital on his bike and asks him why he smokes (“foo foo”). After learning that Nandu’s wife was hospitalized, Akshay emphasized the importance of spending money on sanitary napkins instead of cigarettes, sending a strong public health message.

Fans and moviegoers have expressed their nostalgia for the iconic ad, which has become a staple in Indian theaters. Many netizens took to social media to leave messages, with one commenting, “Mukesh and Nandu will remain in our memories,” bidding farewell to the commercials that accompany countless film screenings.
