Preparations are going on for by-elections on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, Shivpal Yadav’s organizational skills will be tested against CM Yogi in Katehari of Ambedkar Nagar and Awadhesh Prasad’s organizational skills in Milkypur of Ayodhya. Keshav Maurya will be tested in Phulpur of Prayagraj because Akhilesh Yadav has put his second big Dalit face Inderjit Saroj in front of Keshav Maurya and has given him the responsibility of Phulpur.
In such a situation, these three seats Milkipur, Katehari and Phulpur have now been linked to the prestige of both the big leaders of BJP, CM Yogi and Deputy CM Keshav Maurya. Akhilesh Yadav has played his Dalit card on these three seats also. The two leaders whom Akhilesh Yadav has made in-charge in Milkipur and Phulpur, both come from the Pasi community and are considered good organizers.
On the other hand, on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken responsibility of both Milkipur and Katehari seats. Akhilesh Yadav has put Shivpal Yadav in front of Yogi Adityanath. Shivpal Yadav is also considered a master of the organization and in last year’s Ghosi by-election, Shivpal Yadav had shown his strength by defeating the BJP candidate, this time Shivpal Yadav will directly contest against Chief Minister Yogi. Katehari will face Adityanath in the assembly by-election because the Chief Minister has taken the responsibility here on his shoulders.

On which seats will by-elections be held?
The 10 seats in UP where by-elections are to be held include Karhal, Milkypur, Sisamau, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Phulpur, Majhwan, Katehri, Khair and Meerapur. Of these, 9 seats have become vacant due to the MLAs being elected as MPs, while the Sisamau seat of Kanpur has become vacant due to the cancellation of SP leader Irfan Solanki’s MLAship after he was sentenced to 6 years in jail in a case.
