Agnivers will get 20% reservation in Haryana Police Recruitment: Naib Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said on Sunday that ‘Agnivers’ will be provided 20 percent reservation in police recruitment in the state.

In July 2024, months before the state assembly elections, the BJP government in the state announced a 10 percent reservation for Agnives in the recruitment of Constable, Forest Guard and Jail Warden with Kota in other posts.

Presiding over a review meeting in Panchkula on Sunday, CM Saini said that Haryana is the first state in the country to secure the future of Agnavers by creating provisions for jobs after its service period in the armed forces.

The Haryana Cabinet has already provided security cover to the Agnavers by implementing the policy -2024 of Haryana Agnay.

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister said that 20 percent reservation will be provided to the agencies in the recruitment of the State Police.

CM Saini said that the Agnives will be able to get jobs in Haryana after their service period in the Army and for this, a separate portal will be created for them, on which they can register themselves. Subsequently, he will be given preference in jobs on the basis of educational qualification, he said.

During the meeting, the officials informed CM Saini that 2,893 Agnives were recruited from Haryana to the Army, Navy and Air Force during 2023-24 and 2,227 were recruited in 2022-23.

The Agnivars of Haryana who want to adopt self-employment or entrepreneurship will be provided loans at affordable rates. In addition, if the industries appoint Agnivers at a monthly salary of more than Rs 30,000, the government will provide an annual subsidy of Rs 60,000 to those industries, in the statement.

Those Agnivars who want to serve as private security personnel will be given priority in granting gun licenses. For this, they have to apply on the portal, said this.

Launched by the Center in June 2022, the Agneepath scheme provides for the recruitment of youths between the age group of 17-and-half years and there is a provision to maintain 25 percent of them for 15 years for 21 years and for 21 years.

Soon after the announcement of the plan, the then Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had said that the state government would provide guaranteed employment to Agnivers after a four -year term in the armed forces.

Sunday’s meeting was attended by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sumita Mishra, Sainik and Principal Secretary, Saket Kumar, Principal Secretary of Sainik and Additional Chief Minister Saket Kumar, others.
