The train derailment conspiracy in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur has once again come to light. The captain of a freight train braked and stopped the freight train near Prempur station on Sunday after spotting an empty LPG cylinder on the tracks, the second such incident in Uttar Pradesh this month.

Railway Commissioner Prakash D said the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Kanpur has registered an FIR against unknown persons, the news agency reported. Some people suspect that this is a conspiracy and want to cause some accidents.

He said the FIR has been registered under BNS Section 287 (negligent act in connection with fire or flammable substance), Section 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and the Railway Act. Police said the incident took place at 8.10 am when the train was traveling from Kanpur to Allahabad.

Cylinder found on rails

In this regard, the local police said, “The cylinder found on the track has a capacity of 5 kilograms and is empty. It has been removed from the track. The matter is under investigation.” Shravan Kumar, deputy chief of the Eastern Police Department Shravan Kumar Singh said: “The pilot of the locomotive alerted the railway officials, who in turn informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Kanpur police. ADG Railways reached Prempur railway station and inspected the accident site.

A similar conspiracy was hatched earlier in Kanpur

The ADG also held discussions with railways, RPF and local police officials and directed them to prepare an action plan and maintain strict vigil on the railway tracks to avoid such incidents in the future. On September 8, an attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express from Prayagraj to Bhiwani by placing LPG cylinders on the tracks. The train collided with the cylinder before coming to a stop.
