When the jackal started scratching the newborn 50 meters away from the house, the parents ran on hearing the newborn’s crying. But by then the jackal had run away. The newborn had deep wounds on the upper part of the head. The parents took him to the community center, where the doctors declared him dead.

According to the information, Monu’s family lives in Kodaria Purva of Diyara Gram Panchayat under Motihari Police Station. Last night Monu was sleeping with his wife Muskan and children under the roof. Wife Muskan was lying on the cot with her newborn daughter Kajal (2 months) and other children Muskan (7 years), Nate (4 years) and daughter Mehak (2 years). While Monu was lying on another cot with his son Sultan (5 years).

Forest department started rescue operation of jackal

Giving information, Monu said that around 1 o’clock in the night, we woke up hearing the daughter’s screaming voice and Kajal was not on the bed. We heard the sound of screaming at some distance from the house towards the field. When we ran, the jackal ran away from the spot. Blood was oozing out from the girl’s head. We took her to CHC Motigarhpur, where the doctors declared her dead.

Here the Pradhan has informed the local police about the incident. The police has started legal proceedings by sending the body for postmortem. At the same time, the forest department team has also reached the spot and started the rescue operation of the jackal.
