After the arrest warrant was issued, Robin Uthappa’s first reaction was to clarify the fraud case

Robin Uthappa: An arrest warrant has been issued for former Team India cricketer Robin Uthappa in connection with the PF fraud case. According to reports, Uthappa is a shareholder in a company called Centaurus Lifestyle Brand Private Limited. The company deducted the Provident Fund, or PF money, from the employees’ accounts but did not deposit it. As a result, a fraud of approximately Rs 23 lakh was exposed. Accordingly, an arrest warrant was issued against Utapa on December 4. He was also given until December 27 to deposit the entire amount. But if he is unable to do so, he may be arrested again. Now, even before this, a statement has been issued by Utapa.

Robin Uthappa had borrowed money from the company

Robin Uthappa posted What I Want to Tell on the social media platform. I was appointed as a director of these companies in 2018-19. Because I have given money to these companies as loans. Due to my job as a professional cricketer, TV presenter and commentator I didn’t have the time to attend and therefore I didn’t take on an active management role. Other companies I have given loans to so far. I don’t have an executive role in it either.

On top of that, these companies failed to repay the loans I gave them. So I had to take legal action. I also resigned as a director many years ago. When PF officials asked for payment of dues, my legal team responded that I had no involvement. Proceedings have since continued. My legal counsel will take steps to address these issues in the coming days. I would also like to ask the media to provide complete facts.

Win T20 World Cup for India

Team India won the 2007 T20 World Cup under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Robin Uthappa was part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. He is currently busy with commentary and has retired from cricket. He has scored 934 runs in 46 ODIs for India and 249 runs in 13 T20 internationals.
