Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has termed the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police as the ‘Saream Thoko Force’. He also raised questions over the caste-specific deployment in the force. Earlier, the SP chief had also termed the STF as the ‘Thakur Special Force’.

Akhilsh Yadav said the data of personnel deployed in the ‘Saream Thoko Force’ showed that the so-called ‘Special Task Force’ (Vikab) had become the ‘personal force’ of some powerful and blessed people.

About the STF, the former chief minister said, “People who constitute 10% of the population, 90% are deployed and people who constitute 90% of the population, 10% are deployed. This means that there is a specific purpose for using this force as such deployment has been made.”

The SP chief spoke about the special task force against the weak. He quoted the Hindi abbreviation of STF, “Vikab”, “It can also be said that it is the work of the strong, achieving the goals of the strong, but against the weak.”

Akhilesh Yadav further stated that after his claim, some of the neglected people will be given positions in the STF. He wrote: “Any excuse will be raised but will not be accepted.”

SP leader says ‘STF means Thakur Special Force’ – people of the same caste working together

Akhilesh said- How do people of ‘Vikab’ carry out development?

Akhilesh also attached a chart along with the post, in which he claimed that only two PDAs (Backward, Dalit, Minority) or Backward, Dalit and Minority were among the top 21 posts. Of these, 19 officers were from upper castes. Targeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the SP president said, how can those who have “Vikab” carry out development? He sarcastically said, “Vikaab” is a hindrance for UP.

What does the BJP have to say about Aklish’s statement?

Reacting to this statement by Akhil Yadav, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said that he was disappointed with the action taken by STF against criminals “fostered by his party”. That is why he tried to destroy the morale of STF.

He said: “During the Akhilesh government, there were attacks on police. During his regime, there were more than a thousand attacks on police and many policemen were martyred. The morale of the police force has completely collapsed due to the government’s hospitality. “There was a riot at the chief minister’s residence.
