Owaisi: All arguments of BJP rejected

Owaisi further said, “The right of minorities to self-education has been upheld. Today I congratulate all the students and teachers of AMU. It does not matter whether the university was established before the constitution or under government laws. It does not matter if it is run by a minority Established, then it is a minority institution. “With today’s decision, all arguments of the BJP are rejected. “

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Owaisi said, “BJP has been opposing AMU’s minority status for years. What is she going to do now? He has left no stone unturned to attack AMU and Jamia and also our right to run madrassas. Now the people The party should reflect and improve its attitude.”

Advising the Modi government at the Center after the court verdict, AIMIM leader Owaisi said: “The Modi government should take this decision seriously. It should also support AMU as it is also a central university.”

Owaisi said, “Jamia gets Rs 3 lakh per student and AMU gets Rs 3.90 lakh per student but Banaras Hindu University (BHU) gets Rs 6.15 lakh. Not only this, Jamia and AMU are ranked nationally The university has also been doing well with the right support from the government, but for that, Prime Minister Modi must stop discriminating against them.”

What the SC said in its decision

Talking about Kishanganj centre, Owaisi said AMU’s Kishanganj center was in poor condition in the past few years. The government should also pay immediate attention and the center should start work as soon as possible.

The Supreme Court on Friday decided to transfer the AMU minority status case to a new three-judge bench and quash its 1967 judgment which said the university cannot be considered a minority institution as it was established under a central law .
