India and China have begun disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. Soldiers from both countries have begun withdrawing from the Depsang and Demchok areas. According to the agreement, both parties have dismantled one tent and some temporary structures in the area. At Demchok, Indian soldiers were retreating to the west of the Chatdin drainage ditch, while Chinese soldiers were retreating to the east on the other side of the drainage ditch.
About 10-12 temporary structures have been erected on both sides, and about 12-12 tents have been installed on both sides, waiting to be dismantled. According to sources, after this process is completed, patrolling is expected to begin in Depsang and Demchok in the next 4-5 days. The Chinese troops had no tents in Depsang, but they placed tarpaulins between vehicles as temporary shelters.
According to sources, meetings at the local commander level in Depsang and Demchok began on Tuesday. On Wednesday, one tent on each side of Demchok was dismantled. Some temporary structures were also demolished on Thursday. Meanwhile, Chinese soldiers had removed some vehicles from the site on Thursday. The Indian Army also reduced the number of some soldiers from here on Thursday.
