The bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested in the Delhi liquor policy scam case, is to be heard in the Supreme Court today (5 August). The court has listed this case for hearing. CM Kejriwal was first arrested by the ED, but after getting bail in that case, the CBI arrested him from jail itself.
A special bench of Justice Suryakant, Justice CT Ravikumar and Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan will hear CM Kejriwal’s bail plea. The court had already ordered the release of the CM in the ED case. Now his bail plea in the CBI case will be heard in the court and then it will be decided whether he will get bail or not.

On August 27, the Supreme Court granted bail to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader K. Kavitha in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam. She was granted bail in the ED and CBI cases. The court granted her bail in both the cases on a bond of Rs 10 lakh each. While granting her bail, the court said that it cannot be said that because she is educated or an MLA or MP, she can be deprived of the benefits of the provisions of the PMLA Act.
