Bihar’s renowned IPS officer Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande has resigned from the Indian Police Service. The senior IPS officer said on Thursday that he had resigned due to personal reasons.

Two officials resigned within two months

Shivdeep Lande is a 2006-batch officer from Bihar and is currently serving as IG of Purnia Range. He is the second IPS officer from the state to resign in the last two months. Earlier in August, Kamya Mishra, a 2019-batch officer, resigned. She was the SP of Darbhanga Rural.

Kamya Mishra also resigned

Kamya Mishra became an IPS at the age of 22 and resigned after working for 5 years. Everyone was surprised by his resignation. She was solving the murder mystery of Jitan Sahni, father of Vikas Insaan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahni, but at the same time, she resigned from the post. He also cited personal reasons behind his resignation.

On the other hand, while talking to reporters after submitting his resignation, Rand said, “I have resigned from IPS due to some personal reasons. I will stay in Bihar and continue to work for the people.”

Shivdeep Lande has been the SP of many districts, including Munger, Araria and Patna city. He also went to Maharashtra to serve as a deputy for five years. He returned to Bihar in 2022 and has since started working in the Bihar Police as the Superintendent of Police, Kosi Range.
