At a recent two-day counter-terrorism conference, the NIA described the group as a huge threat to the country. The central agency suspects the presence of sleeper HSP cells in four states of the country – Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The organization is also active in Bangladesh.

The Interior Ministry said the group was involved in various terrorist activities, including inciting innocent teenagers to join terrorist organizations and raising funds for terrorist activities. Recently, the NIA also filed charges against 17 suspected terrorists associated with the organization. The agency’s investigation also revealed that people associated with the group contacted through social media applications and tried to recruit large numbers of young Indians to join the group through deception.
