What’s going on?
In fact, Bharat Behera, a 45-year-old farmer from Sant Biripada village in Soro block of Baleshwar district, went to the fields early in the morning to harvest paddy as usual. Since it was a winter morning, there was dew in the fields and the humidity was heavy, so there was a danger of snakes and insects in the fields.
Bharat was harvesting crops in the fields when a poisonous snake bit him. When he realized he had been bitten by a snake, he immediately sought help from other farmers working nearby. Farmers in the field immediately caught the snake and took it to the hospital to be seen by doctors. Bharat Behera rushed to the local sub-health center, hoping to put the snake in a bag to save himself. Some people from the village were also with him. On reaching the hospital, doctors started first aid, but Bharat’s condition kept deteriorating, so he was immediately referred to Balasore District General Hospital.
What did the CDMO of Baleshwar say?
