Advance bookings for Karan Arjun re-release surge amid strong demand

November 20, 2024: magic Karan Arjun Back! To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the 1995 blockbuster starring Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will return to the big screen on November 22. The re-release of the Rakesh Roshan-directed film has already attracted huge buzz and advance bookings have opened ahead of schedule to meet the high demand from the audience.

The film will be screened on 1,200 screens in India and 600 screens internationally, making it one of the widest re-releases of a Bollywood classic. Talking about the hot topic, director Rakesh Roshan shared: “Demand is growing and we’re already seeing 20 to 30 per cent booking inquiries in places where pre-sales open early. That’s a good sign for the relaunch.”

A new look at a timeless classic
Rakesh Roshan reveals Karan Arjun Technology upgrades have been made to attract new generations of viewers, including Generation Z. “I treat this re-release like a brand new movie. The sound has been upgraded to 5.1 Dolby, the colors have been corrected, and a full digital intermediate (DI) has been done to enhance the visuals of the film. When I recently watched I was surprised at how fresh these advances looked.”

Roshan also shared his excitement about introducing the film to younger audiences who may have never seen it in theaters. “I’m interested to see how today’s audiences react to the film. As a filmmaker, it’s like a completely new version for me,” he added.

Support from Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan
Ahead of the announcement, Roshan reached out to Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who expressed their enthusiasm for the film’s re-release. The director said, “Both Salman and Shah Rukh were excited that the film could be celebrated in this way. Since then we have released the teaser and teaser on social media and the response has been overwhelming. I’m sure they are as excited as I am Love and excitement.”
