There has been a stir in the cinema world since the Justice Hema Committee report came out. The report has revealed cases of harassment and exploitation of women in the Malayalam film industry. Meanwhile, Malayalam actress Revathi Sampath has accused senior actor and AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) General Secretary Siddique of sexual harassment. After the actress’ allegations, Siddique has resigned from the post of General Secretary of AMMA. He has officially submitted his resignation to AMMA President Mohanlal.
What did Siddiqui say on resignation
Speaking to a television channel, Siddiqui said, “Yes, I have given my official resignation to the organization’s president Mohanlal. Because there were allegations against me. So I decided not to continue in the post and resigned.”
The actress accused the senior actor
Recently, during a media interaction, Sampath claimed that she was sexually abused at the age of 21. She revealed that Siddiqui had contacted her on Facebook for a film and called her a moll. In Kerala, moll refers to a young girl and daughter. The actress further said that ‘Siddique misbehaved with me. He sexually abused me during the conversation.’
