The accused in the Badlapur rape case committed suicide by shooting himself. The defendant was wounded by a bullet. Police said that in another FIR case, accused Akshay Shinde was detained at Taloja jail by Thane police that night. Accused Akshay snatched away the revolver of a police constable and opened fire.
According to police, the defendant and a police officer were injured when the defendant opened fire. He has been taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. It is reported that the incident occurred at around 5:30 that night.
