Bollywood’s most handsome actor Ranbir Kapoor started his career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. The film proved to be the biggest flop of Bhansali’s career, but Ranbir’s career took off. Although everyone wants his debut film to be a superhit but Ranbir does not believe so. He said that it was good that the film flopped.

Debut from Sanjay’s film

Ranbir Kapoor believes that the film Saawariya was right to flop. He explained the reason for this in the podcast given to Nikhil Kamat. Ranbir told that he was sitting outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office with his resume. This was very important for his life.

Ranbir said that after completing his studies, when he wanted to debut in Bollywood, he expressed his desire to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “When I came back, every director or producer in the industry wanted to launch me. But I was a big fan of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I thought, maybe he doesn’t know me. So I prepared my resume and sat outside his office.

Happy that the film didn’t do well

Ranbir started working with Bhansali as an assistant director. He faced a lot of trouble in this, but because of this he was able to become strong also. He said- I waited, and although Sanjay Leela Bhansali was not there initially, he saw my biodata and recognized who I was. The first time we met, he said- I want to make a film with you. Because of them I was able to become strong.

When ‘Saawariya’ was released, it proved to be a big disaster at the box office. On this Ranbir said- Now when I look back, I am happy that that film did not do well, because it had prepared me for the life ahead.

Ranbir Kapoor has told that Sanjay had harassed him a lot. ‘He was a strict task-master and I was sitting on my knees on the set, he was beating me… After a time it became so much and I felt so tortured that at one point I felt like leaving the film. Will have to. I think I had been in my job for 10 or 11 months and I felt like saying, ‘Listen, I can’t do this, it’s taking over me.’

However, forgetting everything, Ranbir and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are going to work together after years. Their Love and War film will hit the screens soon.
