A farmer was killed in a tragic road accident in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The truck caught fire and dragged the farmer for about 20 meters on the road. Regarding the incident, the police said that a 55-year-old farmer was killed on Monday when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck. The truck dragged him forward for 20 meters.

Truck drags body for 20 meters

He told reporters that the incident took place at Bolarhi junction in Srinagar police station area on Kanpur-Sagar national highway around 10 am. “Both the motorcycle and the farmer were trapped in the truck, as a result of which the farmer was dragged for about 20 meters,” said Shivpal Singh, in-charge of Srinagar police station.

The deceased was identified as Ramkripal Bajpai, a resident of Ulvala village. Police officials said that the companion, Shekhar Sen (22), who was riding the motorcycle, was seriously injured and is being treated at a government hospital.

Police chief Singh said that after the incident, the truck driver and the conductor abandoned the vehicle and fled. He said: “We are looking for them.” The farmer’s body has been sent for autopsy.

Three deaths in the same family

Let us tell you that just a few days ago, three people from the same family were killed in another road accident in Banda. The deceased included a husband, a wife and their children. All of them were travelling by car when a truck hit them. All three died in the accident.

The man, a resident of Attala town and a teacher in Navodaya Vidyalaya in Chhattisgarh, was driving along with his wife and two children as they had to go to school. Meanwhile, while on the way, a heavy trailer truck carrying iron hit the car near the toll plaza on Satna-Maihar road in MP province.
