Abhijit has opened up about his career differences with Shah Rukh Khan, claiming the superstar’s musical appeal disappeared after their collaboration ended.

Abhijeet’s voice became synonymous with Shah Rukh Khan’s on-screen charisma in the ’90s and early 2000s, as he launched projects such as “You see me” (May Hoon Na) and “Moon and Stars” (yes boss). However, their collaboration ended abruptly 17 years ago, leaving fans wondering why they broke up.

Abhijit talks about their consequences

In the podcast, Abhijit clarified that while many people have criticized Shah Rukh Khan in the past, he has never resorted to insults or disrespect. The singer expressed disappointment that Shah Rukh never reached out for help.

“I’m older than him; he could have come and hugged me. I didn’t expect an apology, but he could have said, ‘Ho gaya yaar, chal yaar (It’s done, let’s move on) and we will work together again.” “But people chose to ignore me. I wasn’t angry, just hurt.”

Abhijit describes their professional relationship as akin to a “couple” dynamic, where disagreements are inevitable but a deep connection remains.

“There are no memorable songs after me”

The singer confidently stated that after their drama, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to come up with a song with as timeless appeal as his. “Kuh Kuh Hota Sea” “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayange” or “Yes, boss.”

“Chad! India is not a typical Shah Rukh album, the new songs lack the charm of the old songs. Lungi dance? Obviously, I can’t sing this song. But please tell me, in my, Udit Narayan Which song do people remember after (Udit Narayan) or Kumar Sanu?”

Abhijit on Dua Lipa controversy

Abhijit also spoke about the recent controversy involving his son Jai Bhattacharyawho called the international pop sensation Dua Lipa Because Abhijit didn’t credit her during the show “Levitation” and “Walajijo” Bombay mix.

While Abhijit admitted he was disappointed, he insisted he was not unduly troubled by the lack of recognition. “I don’t care who Dua Lipa is or if she believes in me. This song exists because of me and that’s enough.”
