Today is the last date for filing nominations in Haryana. Aam Aadmi Party has declared its candidates on all 90 seats. Congress and Aam Aadmi Party could not form an alliance as per Rahul Gandhi’s wish. In Haryana, Congress leaders, be it former CM Bhupendra Hooda or Randeep Surjewala, all wanted that Congress party should stay away from Aam Aadmi Party. The wish of Congress leaders has been fulfilled but contesting elections alone is going to be very costly for the party. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded such candidates in many assembly constituencies who have performed well in previous elections. It is obvious that these candidates will trouble Congress a lot. If there is a dent in the anti-BJP votes, then Congress will have to bear the loss. There are at least 8 to 10 seats in Haryana where if Aam Aadmi Party candidates cannot win, then they will definitely work to weaken Congress.

Aam Aadmi Party’s vote percentage may increase in Haryana

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party contested the elections together in Haryana. Due to the alliance, AAP was able to contest only on one Kurukshetra seat. The party had fielded state president Sushil Gupta from here. Sushil Gupta stood second on this seat by getting about five lakh 13 thousand votes. Naveen Jindal won this seat on a BJP ticket. As far as the votes received by the Aam Aadmi Party are concerned, it is obvious that the votes received by Congress must also have been included in it. But when Aam Aadmi Party gets 3.94 percent votes in Haryana by contesting only one Lok Sabha seat, it is obvious that this time it will increase a bit. In the assembly elections, the party is contesting on a total of 90 assembly seats. It should be expected that the vote percentage will increase a bit more this time.

However, in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party contested on 46 seats. But the party’s vote share was only 0.48 percent. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, all ten seats in Haryana were won by BJP. Even after contesting on a total of three Lok Sabha seats, AAP’s vote share was only 0.36 percent. But this time it will not happen. There are some other reasons for this. Let’s see –

Impact of Sunita Kejriwal’s rallies

Sunita Kejriwal is continuously holding election rallies in Haryana. You can say that Sunita Kejriwal had also held road shows and rallies in Delhi during the Lok Sabha elections, yet the party did not get success. But this is not the case in Haryana. BJP has been in power in Haryana for 10 years, and making this an issue, Sunita Kejriwal is asking for votes in the name of Arvind Kejriwal. She is presenting Arvind Kejriwal as the son of Haryana and the lion of Haryana. Along with this, she also attacks BJP for putting Arvind Kejriwal in jail in a fake manner. It is worth noting that Arvind Kejriwal’s ancestral village is in Kheda of Hisar in Haryana.

Senior journalist from Haryana Pradeep Narula says that Aam Aadmi Party has fielded very select candidates on some seats. These candidates have been among the public for the entire 5 years. Many of these candidates have their own vote bank. There are many candidates who have contested elections earlier also, and have also got a good number of votes. And the biggest thing is that the organization of Aam Aadmi Party is strong as compared to Congress. It also has workers. The party will definitely get the benefit of this this time.

Some seats where Aam Aadmi Party can play

Narula says that there are at least 9 seats in Haryana where Aam Aadmi Party will get a good number of votes. There is a possibility of it winning on some of these seats. Especially Anurag Dhanda from Kalayat, Harpinder Singh Happy from Rania, Rakesh Parsad from Guhla Cheeka, Adarsh Pal Gurjar from Jagadhari etc. come to the fore.

Congress has fielded Vikas Saharan, son of MP Jaiprakash from Kalayat seat. Due to this, Shweta Dhul, a strong candidate in the race for ticket from this seat, has become angry. Obviously, Aam Aadmi Party can take advantage of the internal conflict of Congress here.

Congress leader Shweta Dhul has posted on Instagram, “If my father was a big leader, would my ticket have been cancelled at this juncture? However, I will not comment, I just want to say that only the son of a king becomes a king. This is the truth.” Shweta Dhul has been a hardworking Congress worker. Randeep Singh Surjewala had once praised her publicly. Surjewala had said that every time I raise the voice of the youth, I learn from this girl. I ask her that these are the issues, what do you find lacking in them. It is clear that Anurag Dhanda will benefit from the infighting in the Congress. However, BJP candidate Kamlesh Dhanda can also benefit from the fight between the two.

AAP has fielded WWE wrestler Kavita Dalal against Congress wrestler Vinesh Phogat and BJP’s Captain Yogesh Bairagi in Julana. Kavita was the first female wrestler from India to go to WWE. People also know her as ‘Lady Khali’. It is obvious that she can become a problem for Vinesh Phogat.

Adarsh Pal Gurjar is also a strong candidate from Jagadhari. Gurjar was earlier in the Aam Aadmi Party, but he went to the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. Now he has returned home once again. Adarsh Pal Gurjar contested the 2019 elections from Jagadhari on a BSP ticket and secured 48 thousand votes.

AAP candidate Harpinder Singh Happy from Rania assembly seat in Sirsa district filed his nomination papers on Wednesday. During this, Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur from Aam Aadmi Party and MLA from Jalalabad Goldy Kamboj participated. BJP candidate from Rania is Sheeshpal Kamboj and Congress candidate Sarvamitra Kamboj will contest against each other. Happy is a district councilor, so he cannot be taken lightly. Similarly, Rakesh from Guhla Cheeka (reserved seat), who is a district councilor, Krishna Bajaj from Thanesar assembly seat, Satish Yadav from Rewari assembly seat, Sunil Rao from Ateli assembly seat, Sandeep Malik from Baroda have the potential to upset.
