A woman gave birth to a baby girl in a moving train, the railway medical team reached the next station

A woman experienced labour pains in a moving train on the Barauni-Samastipur railway route in Bihar, after which she gave birth to a baby girl. Due to the understanding of the railway officials and doctors, the woman was safely delivered at Samastipur station. The train remained halted till the delivery took place. After this, the woman’s family and passengers praised the railways.

Actually, a woman named Rajni Devi travelling in 15903 Dibrugarh-Chandigarh Express gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Rajni Devi was going to Muzaffarpur with her husband. As soon as the train left Barauni station, the woman started having labor pains. Rajni’s husband immediately informed the TTE and RPF personnel present in the train. Railway officials immediately informed the control room through dial 139.

After this, the control room instructed the medical team to be ready at Samastipur station. As soon as the train reached Samastipur station, a medical team led by Dr. Payal Mishra of the Railway Hospital immediately reached the train compartment and conducted a safe delivery. Dr. Payal Mishra said that both the mother and the baby are completely healthy. Immediately after the delivery, both were admitted to the Railway Hospital for medical examination, where their condition was found to be stable.

Rajni Devi and her family members thanked the railway officials and doctors. The passengers present in the train also praised the railway. The officials said that the railway is ready to serve not only the passengers but also in their health related emergencies.
