After Badlapur in Maharashtra, now a shameful incident has happened with school girls in Akola. Here a government school teacher used to show obscene videos to the girl students. An FIR has been registered in this case. It is alleged that the teacher was doing this for about four months. The girl students called the Child Welfare Committee and told the whole thing. This incident came to light when there is a huge protest in Badlapur over the sexual abuse of two kindergarten girls.

According to the agency, this incident took place in a Zila Parishad school in Kajikhed in Akola. Here, a 47-year-old teacher was showing pornographic videos to six girl students of the school for four months. He used to harass the students by forcing them to watch the videos. Fed up with this, the students called the toll-free number of the Child Welfare Committee and lodged a complaint.

On Tuesday morning, based on the complaint, the team of Child Welfare Committee reached the school and after talking to the students, a case was registered against the teacher. In this case, the police say that six students have complained that a teacher in their school has been showing pornographic videos for the past four months.

After the complaint of the girl students, an FIR has been registered against the teacher. The accused teacher was taken into custody after interrogation and further investigation is being done. In this case, former member of the State Women’s Commission Asha Mirg has also demanded strict action against the teacher.

Anger erupted after the incident of sexual abuse in Badlapur

Earlier, a similar shameful incident came to light in Badlapur of Thane district. Here a school attendant sexually abused three and four year old girls studying in kindergarten. When the girls told their parents about this, the whole matter came to light, after which a case was registered.

The police have taken action under the POCSO Act. On August 17, the police arrested a school attendant on charges of sexually assaulting two kindergarten girls. The Maharashtra government has ordered the formation of an SIT headed by senior IPS officer Aarti Singh to investigate the matter.

When this incident came to light, people of the entire area came out on the streets in protest and thousands of protesters blocked the railway track at Badlapur station. Due to this, local train services came to a halt. The routes of long distance trains had to be changed. At Badlapur railway station, the protesters pelted stones at the police and vandalized the school building. The police lathicharged the protesters at the railway station and ended the protest after nine hours.

Regarding this entire matter, opposition parties alleged that the parents of the victim girls had to wait for 11 hours at the Badalpur police station, after which the officials registered their complaint.

The school management apologized after the incident

The school management has apologised for the incident and said it has blacklisted the firm that was given the housekeeping contract. School authorities said vigilance will be increased on the school premises in the wake of the incident. The school management suspended the principal, a class teacher and a female attendant following the incident, while the state government ordered the suspension of three police officials, including a senior police inspector.

Zone IV Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhakar Pathare said that a case was registered against the accused, who was arrested within three and a half hours of filing the FIR. People of Badlapur should avoid coming out on the streets or participating in protests, as this hampers the investigation process. The police administration is engaged in solving the case.

Uddhav Thackeray said- the case should be heard in a fast track court

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said that the sexual abuse case of school girls in Badlapur should be heard quickly. He said that on one hand the state government is running a scheme, on the other hand sisters and daughters are not safe. Politics is being done on crimes against women by targeting some states.

Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council Ambadas Danve criticized the government over the police action. Ambadas Danve targeted the government and the police and announced that his party would launch a statewide movement against the ruling coalition.
