Pregnant Woman attacked: In Thane district of Maharashtra, police have registered a case against five relatives including the husband of a pregnant woman for attacking her. The woman narrowly escaped in this attack. A police officer gave information about this on Thursday.

Giving details about the incident, the police officer told PTI that the complainant, who works as a nurse, was attacked on August 14 when she questioned her husband about his behaviour with other women.

The police officer further said that her husband Miraj Mohammad Ali Momin kicked her in the stomach and face despite her being pregnant. During this, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law also joined her husband in attacking the woman.

When the victim’s mother tried to intervene, she was also attacked. After this, the woman was admitted to Thane Civil Hospital for treatment. After recovering, she lodged a complaint at Nizampura police station in Bhiwandi.

Police have registered a case against the five accused under sections 91 (act done with intent to prevent a child from being born alive or to cause its death after birth), 115 (2) voluntarily causing hurt (352) and 351 (2) of criminal intimidation of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the police officer, the police is waiting for the medical report to know the status of the woman’s pregnancy.
