London: The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, one of the world’s deadliest wars that has raged for more than two and a half years, has taken a new turn. Ukrainian President Zelensky has agreed to a ceasefire with Russia. The Daily Telegraph said Zelensky also agreed to hand over Ukrainian territory to Russia in exchange for peace. This is the biggest news in the world at this moment.
Ukraine’s president said for the first time that his country would hand over territory occupied by Ukraine to Russia “under NATO protection,” The Telegraph reported. Territory occupied by Russia and protected by NATO could be temporarily ceded. Zelensky said for the first time on Friday night that he was ready to cede territory to Russia to end the war.
Zelensky ready to give up land, makes only one condition to Russia
According to reports, Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to temporarily cede Russian-occupied territories to Russia “under the protection of NATO.” He said that after the ceasefire agreement is reached, Kyiv can engage in “diplomatic” negotiations with the help of NATO to return the territory currently controlled by Russia. But now it has become a sine qua non of peace in war.
Zelensky announced in the interview
Zelensky is said to have said in an interview with Sky News that “if we want to stop this terrible phase of the war, we have to put the areas of Ukraine under our control under NATO protection.” He said: “We need to do it quickly. Take action before Ukraine can regain another part of its territory through diplomatic means.” The comments represented a significant change in his stance. Kyiv has previously said it will continue fighting Russia until Ukraine returns to its internationally recognized borders in 2022, which includes the four regions captured by Putin as well as Crimea.
