A man in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh staged a unique protest. He rolled on the road with a garland of documents around his neck demanding action against a village sarpanch in a corruption case. After the ‘rolling’ protest, Neemuch District Collector Himanshu Chandra ordered a fresh investigation into the complaint.

A video of a protester named Mukesh Prajapati surfaced on social media and the state Congress also shared the clip on its official handle of the social media platform ‘x’.

In the video, Prajapat is seen hanging a garland of papers on the road inside the premises of the district collectorate. He claims that these papers are corruption complaints against the sarpanch of his native village Kankaria.

Prajapat later said that he had been expressing his grievances for the past six to seven years, but no action had been taken by the authorities.

SDM Mamta Khede said that Prajapat had come with a complaint against a sarpanch and the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has already investigated the allegations made by him. Khede said that after the protest, a fresh investigation will be conducted on the instructions of the District Collector.

Let us tell you that every Tuesday, public hearing is organized in the premises of the Collector’s office in all the districts of Madhya Pradesh, where senior officials look into the complaints raised by the citizens.

Earlier in July, an elderly farmer in Mandsaur district rolled on the floor of the collector’s office, alleging that the administration had not resolved his complaint of land grabbing.
