A huge attack on BSF soldiers by Bangladeshi smugglers, huge number of weapons recovered

On the night of 11 August, Bangladeshi smugglers tried to attack BSF soldiers on the India-Bangladesh border in Malda district of West Bengal. After the attack, the soldiers retaliated on the smugglers who were running away, in which one smuggler was killed. After the search, a huge quantity of weapons have been recovered. Officials said that the matter is being investigated.

According to the information, the soldier on duty at Chandnichak, the border post of 115th battalion, saw 5-6 people carrying some goods. When the jawan tried to stop them, the smugglers attacked him with a sharp weapon. The soldiers fired one round at the Bangladeshi smugglers in self-defense. Despite the firing, smugglers continued moving towards Bangladesh. After this, a smuggler was killed in the firing by the soldiers. During the search, 6 bundles of beedi leaves were recovered from the spot and a huge quantity of weapons were recovered.

Sources have revealed that the name of the deceased is Abdulah and he is a smuggler who hails from Bangladesh. This smuggler had crossed the security cordon of Bangladesh’s BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) and entered the Indian border illegally to carry the consignment of beedi leaves.

This is not the first such incident. Such incidents have been happening in many border areas of West Bengal. BSF South Bengal Frontier spokesperson AK Arya said that such incidents are not unusual for us. BSF soldiers are performing their duties with extraordinary courage and alertness.
