Devotees take the snakes out by taking a dip in the river and catching them with hands and mouth. People are quite surprised to see this.

At the beginning of the fair, after offering prayers from the temple of Goddess Bhagwati situated in Bhagat Singhia market, they reach the Budhi Gandak river with drums and plates. Then they also offer prayers and take a dip in the river. After this the process of removing snakes from the river begins. Apart from the youth, small children also get involved in removing snakes from the river. People are seen roaming around with snakes in their hands or wrapped around their necks.

Some people associate it with reverence and call it a miracle of God.
