A Chinese woman did a high-devotional job to work as a canteen worker to prioritize her happiness. Despite having a master’s degree in journalism from the 26 -year Peking University, decided to work in the university canteen, South China Morning Post (SCMP) said.
Ms. Huang comes from a remote part of the Hunan region in Central China, and both of her parents work as bus drivers. They disagree with her choice to work in a canteen as they are worried about job physical demands and bad salaries.
She said that when people ask her parents where she works, she just says, “Peking University.” He said, “Many people believe that I am a professor there.”
She starts her innings in the morning, works for a long time, and spends most of her time on her feet. The students lovingly referred to him as “Mam Huang”. She bites a lot of vegies, serves food, and suffers soup or oatmeal from large containers.
As SCMPMs. Huang completed her master in 2022 and then did internships in various media organizations and internet companies. Due to work pressure, he decided not to pursue his career in journalism.
Ms. Huang said that work in the media was mentally challenging because she had to fulfill strict goals and goals. He said that he always had to think about work and answer his boss messages or questions throughout the day.
Her job was so demanding that she felt that she was always on duty outside the office time. “Compared to those jobs, working as a canteen aunt gives me more pleasure,” he said.
His life as a canteen worker has not been a story, either. Recalling an incident, he said that his hands were swollen while cutting a large basket of warm chili. “I had to bear the pain, but it disappeared by the next day,” he said.
“First, I continued to struggle with tiredness of this job. However, I soon came to know that a good night sleep would help me recover quickly,” he said.
She produces 6,000 yuan (about 69,300 rupees) in a month and expects to become the manager of the canteen one day. Although his classmates earn 20,000 yuan (about Rs 2,31,000) per month, he said that it does not worry about him. “Working in the canteen is my choice, because it aligns with my personal pleasure,” he said.
