CM Devendra Fadnavis hints at action against Ranveer Allahabadia over 'controversial remark'; here's what he said
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis suggests potential action against YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, also known as BeerBiceps, for his controversial comments on India’s Got Talent

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday has suggested that action could be taken against YouTuber and influencer Ranveer Allahabadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, following his recent controversial comments on the reality show India’s Got Latent.

Fadnavis expressed his concerns about the remarks made by Allahabadia, stating that while everyone is entitled to freedom of speech, it becomes problematic when one’s speech infringes upon the rights or freedom of others.
“I have heard about it, but I haven’t seen it myself yet. It seems that things were said and presented incorrectly. While everyone has the right to freedom of speech, it should not encroach upon the freedom of others,” said Fadnavis in response to a query regarding Allahabadia’s remarks.
He further emphasised that there are societal rules in place, and any violation of these rules is wrong. “If someone violates these norms, action should be taken against them,” the chief minister added.
The Controversy
Allahabadia has been facing significant backlash following his comments on India’s Got Latent, which went viral on social media. During his appearance on Samay Raina’s show, he allegedly asked a controversial question to a contestant, sparking widespread criticism online.
The remarks, which were made in a joking context, have led to a formal complaint accusing the show’s organisers and participants of making obscene comments about women with the intent of gaining popularity and financial profit through the online broadcast.
Former National Commission for Women (NCW) Chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma also expressed her shock over the remarks. “The video is very shocking. Whether it’s a female or a male, such jokes are never acceptable in society. Making jokes about a woman’s body is inappropriate and shows how some of today’s youth have descended to such a morally low level. Such comments also harm others involved in creative work. I have forwarded the video to the NCW Chairperson for further action.”
Shiv Sena, through spokesperson Raju Wagamare, condemned the remarks as well. “In the state of Maharashtra, under the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj, such language will not be tolerated. They should immediately cease this behaviour, or we will take action in our own style.”
