Anil Agarwal, executive chairman of mining giant Vedanta Group, pointed out that India and the United States have many similarities in terms of democracy, entrepreneurial ecosystem, human resources and national natural resources.
“India and the United States have a lot in common – democracy, entrepreneurship, human assets and natural resources,” Anil Agarwal said on LinkedIn.
Having said that, Anil Agarwal also pointed out that the difference between India and the United States is a gap in priorities, with India hesitant to acknowledge wealth creation and development of natural resources.
“The difference is in priorities. We have been hesitant to recognize wealth creation. And shy about exploiting our natural resources,” Anil Agarwal said in a social media post on LinkedIn.

Noting India’s step towards change, Anil Agarwal said the country should trust its entrepreneurs and eliminate “pre-approval” to move towards a self-certified digital environment.
“But things are changing. Let’s trust our entrepreneurs. We can do away with pre-approval and move to self-certification. With our amazing digital public infrastructure, we can move to online trading of land and availability of land for manufacturing is crucial,” Agarwal said in his post.
The chairman said that India can develop resources and move towards self-sufficiency without affecting the environment with the help of existing technologies that can be monitored in real time.
Agarwal also advised people to engage in “disruption” to ensure prosperity of the people and the country’s youth.
