Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief MK Stalin said ahead of the 2026 assembly elections that his party will form the government in the state for the seventh time. He also claimed that the DMK-led alliance will win 200 seats. In the last election, in 2021, the DMK-led alliance won 159 of the 234 seats in the state.
Stalin addressed party workers in Kanchipuram constituency on Sunday. During this period, he highlighted the work done by the government in the past three years and DMK’s commitment to public welfare. He said, “We are aiming to form the DMK government for the seventh time. Our alliance will win 200 seats. In 2026, victory belongs to us. For three years, we have been working for the welfare of the people. No state government in the country has been able to start Plans like ours. In 2019, our alliance was formed as an ideological alliance and since then we have won parliamentary elections, assembly elections and local body elections.
All opposition political equations will be destroyed – CM
Stalin said, “Many people are making political calculations against our ideological alliance. I firmly say that all calculations that are not in favor of our ideological alliance will be proved wrong. Our alliance will win. Earlier, The Chief Minister held a high-level executive meeting on Sunday, which was attended by senior leaders including Chief Minister Stalin and more than 800 senior executive members.
DMK passes 12 resolutions in meeting
Chief Minister Stalin also attended the meeting held at the Anna Arivarayam party headquarters in Chennai. The DMK passed 12 resolutions which were read out by DMK leader TKS Elangovan. Elangovan is a former member of the House of Federation. He praised Chief Minister Stalin and Tamil Nadu government ministers for the preventive measures taken during Cyclone Fangal. During the meeting, the DMK condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged “derogatory” remarks against BR Ambedkar during the constitutional debate in the Union House.
