During the same winter session of Parliament, Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha strongly raised the issue and highlighted the issue of water, tea and snacks being provided at expensive prices at airports. As a result of his efforts, the government has now taken cognizance of the problem and plans to open ‘Udaan Yatri Café’. It will start from Kolkata Airport where food will be served at affordable prices.

Departing from Kolkata Airport

The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has announced that “Udan Yatri Café” will be launched at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. Although this will be a pilot project, it will be implemented later at other airports of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Bottled water, tea, coffee and snacks will be available at the cafe at reasonable prices, which will be of great comfort to passengers.

Highlighting the need for affordable facilities

Councilor Raghav Chadha expressed happiness and called it a positive step. He said, “The government has finally heard the public’s cry. Although it has started with the Kolkata airport, they hope to implement it in other airports across the country soon. After that our people will travel by air. Citizens will not have to spend money at the airport.” Rs 100-250 for water, tea or coffee. “He further said, “This is inconvenient for ordinary passengers. The government should ensure that passengers get better facilities at reasonable prices. “
