Officers should be investigated… Digvijay raises security concerns in push-pull case

Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Digvijay Singh

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and Congress leader Digvijay Singh has raised questions about the security of the Assembly. He asked how the BJP MPs entered the Parliament building with sticks. Apart from this, Digvijay Singh also raised questions about the security of CISF.

Digvijay Singh said the previous duty and ward security systems should be returned. They are well-trained people who understand every situation. Current CISF soldiers have not received any training on how to deal with Parliament.

Digvijay further said that when it became clear that a confrontation between the two parties was possible, what was done? Why weren’t you prepared? The officials responsible should be investigated and action taken against them.

Why have security measures changed at Parliament?

In May, parliamentary security responsibilities were handed over to CISF. After the withdrawal of 1,400 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, more than 3,317 CISF personnel took over the security of the Parliament House. The decision to change security arrangements was taken after parliament collapsed on December 13 last year.
